December 10, 2014 was held ceremony of pass in use of biological wastewater treatment plant in the village Oniscani, district Calarasi in the central part of Moldova. Ribbon cutting ceremony took Ambassador Republic of Poland to Moldova Artur Michalski and Deputy Minister of Environment of Moldova Veaceslav Vladicescu, in the presence of local governments, the mass media and the local community. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the East Foundation Mirosław Matreńczyk.

Within the project 71/2014 East Foundation has completed construction of two innovative model of rural wastewater treatment plants: in the village Oniscani (Calarasi district) with soil-plant filters and in the village Olanesti (Stefan-Voda district) in the SBR technology. The project was co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs "Polish Aid" program,  the National Environmental Fund of the Ministry of Environment of Moldova and the local authorities of respective villages.
