The Project is co-financed by the Polish development cooperation programme 2013 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

The estimated budget for the project:                   423.191 EUR
The estimated grant:                                           292.905 EUR
The estimated contribution to their own partner:    130.286 EUR

The overall objective of the project is the development of rural entrepreneurship to improve the economic situation of the population in rural areas.

Direct objectives of the project are:
•  Implementation of innovative forms of farm management
•  Development of local agricultural services
•  Create a pilot agricultural producer groups
•  Support the Agricultural Advisory System in Moldova

The project consists of:

  • create 12 innovative initiatives to promote the model, profitable forms of farming in rural Moldova
  • the creation of six pilot local agricultural services which support existing agricultural cooperatives and potential producer groups
  • assistance in the establishment of four pilot agricultural producer groups
  • supporting the development of the farm advisory system and expanding base of self-employed agricultural consultants / experts
  • the transfer of knowledge and exchange of professional experiences through the organization of study visits in Poland and training workshops in Moldova

The project was developed as a joint request by the Polish non-governmental organizations: Foundation Prince K. Ostrogski, Foundation East and Podlasie Nature Station "Narew" in partnership with the National Agency for Rural Development in Moldova.

The project has received recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Farmers Union of Moldova and Expert Advisory Mission of the European Union in Moldova. It is accordance with the National Development Strategy and the Strategy of Moldova Region Development Centre. The various local initiatives planned under the project have also been approved by the relevant local authorities.
