Migration (including anti-trafficking and domestic violence issues) was selected by East Foundation members as the second thematic priority for the regional activity. Already in 2010 -2011 the first concept of regional cooperation was developed and approved and first pilot projects initiated. Therefore the East Foundation tried to gather all potential stake holders in the region to discuss possibility to systematize ways of future cooperation and to develop joint strategic plan.

A workshop on aid to victims of irregular labor migration took place on October 3-4, 2012, Moscow. It was organized by the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations together with International Organization for Migration. The event was possible due to the support of East Foundation (including the CoS contribution).
The trainees were 25 representatives of Church related organizations working in the field of migration
The meeting was attended by the DECR staff members, representatives of the Department for Charity and Social Service, clergy from Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and Russia responsible for the work with migrants, as well as representatives of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Catholic Charity 'Caritas'. Among the participants were also representatives of the International Organization for Migration and the international public organization FAIRGirls.
