One of priority sectors for East Foundation activity is regional networking and capacity building. Capacity building program for fund raising is important element, which might contribute to future sustainability of partners organizations in the region. This project is focusing on few inter-active trainings for member organizations of the East Foundation to upgrade their knowledge and skills on fund raising from larger secular organizations like EU, UN etc.
On November 27-28, 2012, the workshop took place in the Holy Etchmiadzin thanks to the joint efforts and close collaboration of the ART, UNFPA, East Foundation and the Gevorgyan Theological Academy. The workshop provided for an opportunity to discuss contemporary developments in diaconal work carried out by various churches, discuss approaches to introduction of specific educational in diakonia and share best practices and challenges in fundraising efforts made by the FBOs in order to ensure the diaconal initiatives come into reality.
There were 40 participants representing faith-based organizations, international and civil society institutions and academia from Armenia, FBO and UNFPA Partnership Network from Belarus, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan and two representatives from Western leading academia specialized on social diakonia.
